Wet stamped in black ink emulating photographer's signature on recto of mount below print. According to Malcolm Daniel's, The Photographs of Edouard Baldus, Baldus made most of his large format salt prints from paper negatives of railroad construction work in 1853 (see p.82). The signature stamp dates to about 1854 or a little later.
